Telemedicine

What is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine is the practice of medicine using technology to deliver care at a distance. A healthcare provider in one location uses a telecommunications infrastructure to deliver care to a patient at a distant site. By using online video telemedicine, Headache Centers of America healthcare providers are able to evaluate patients in order to provide the appropriate treatment.

Why Headache Centers of America?

Migraine can be one of the most debilitating conditions. In fact, headache is the second leading cause of years lived with disability worldwide, second only to back pain. Many people living with headache and migraine do not have access to a healthcare provider solely dedicated to the treatment of migraine and other headache conditions. Telemedicine has offered an excellent platform to provide such care to more people. The team at Headache Centers of America work with patients to formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan that is tailored to their individual needs. When medication is prescribed, we send the prescription either to your local pharmacy or to one of our partner pharmacies who will deliver it to you.

Treatments Offered

At Headache Centers of America we individualize treatment plans to the individual needs and goals of our patients. Because we understand that no two patients are exactly alike, we will partner with you to formulate the best treatment plan for you. We provide the latest, cutting-edge treatments for migraine, including medications, supplements, and non-drug approaches to managing migraine.

Some of the newest medications that have been developed to treat migraine involve a specific pathway in the brain and nervous system. We have extensive experience treating patients with these newer medications that often help to prevent migraine as well as to treat migraine attacks when they occur. We also have experience with generic medications which can often provide the relief from migraines our patients are seeking.

Non-drug treatments can also be effective in the treatment of migraine. We share information with our patients about these various non-drug alternatives.

We also discuss with our patients important lifestyle changes that may be helpful in reducing the frequency and severity of migraine attacks.
